Why work at SBA CPA?
Accounting looks different at a firm our size. You work with owners directly, you see how the numbers you prepare affect real decisions, and you are not limited to one narrow task for years at a time. At the same time, you have colleagues across six offices to learn from and ask questions of.
A few things shape what the work is like here.
Variety. Our clients span more than 50 industries, from restaurants and contractors to manufacturers, real estate investors and nonprofits. Over a year you will see a wide range of businesses and problems, and you will build judgment faster because of it.
Technology that removes busywork. The firm is technology-forward by design. We use cloud accounting and payroll platforms, secure client portals and automation for routine work, so your time goes into review, analysis and client conversations rather than retyping data.
One team across disciplines. Tax, accounting, payroll and advisory work happen under one roof. Tax staff can see the books the return depends on, and accountants can see how their work feeds planning. People who want to grow beyond one specialty can.
Professional development. Tax and accounting rules change every year. The firm invests in training and continuing education at every level, and team members share what they learn across the industries we serve.
Roles we typically hire
Openings change through the year, but these are the roles we hire most often:
- Tax preparers. Individual and business returns, including partnerships, S corporations and C corporations, with review from senior staff and CPAs.
- Staff and senior accountants. Monthly closes, reconciliations, financial statements, payroll and sales tax compliance, and support for virtual CFO engagements.
- Bookkeepers. Day-to-day transaction processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable for a portfolio of clients.
- Client services. The first point of contact for prospective and current clients: scheduling, onboarding, document requests and keeping engagements organized.
Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar cloud accounting software is helpful for most roles.
Where you would work
We have offices in Denver, Littleton, Lakewood, Loveland, Estes Park and Boulder. Let us know which locations work for you when you apply.
Seasonal and part-time roles are sometimes available, particularly during tax season.
