What will your tax return cost to prepare?
Fees for an individual return depend on the forms your situation requires. Answer the questions below and, once you share your contact details, you will see an estimated range and the forms that drive it.
What the estimate reflects
- The forms and schedules your answers bring in, priced from our recent invoices for the same forms.
- A range, because the number of transactions, payers or depreciable assets can move the work up or down.
- Your Colorado return, plus any other states you list.
Where should we send your estimate?
Your estimate appears as soon as you submit. A member of our client services team will follow up to answer questions; there is no obligation.

A starting point for the conversation, not a quote. The fee is confirmed when we see your documents; state allocations, many transactions or many depreciable assets can increase it.

Common questions
How do you price an individual tax return?
By the forms and schedules your situation requires. A return with wages and a Colorado filing needs far less work than one with a business, rental properties, investment sales or income in several states, and the fee reflects that difference rather than a flat rate for everyone.
Is the estimate a quote?
No. It is a starting point based on your answers. The fee is confirmed once we see your documents, because details such as the number of investment transactions or depreciable assets can move it in either direction.
What is not covered by the estimate?
Situations that need a CPA to review the documents first, such as a 1031 exchange or other real estate sale, several K-1s, amended or prior-year returns, foreign accounts or trusts, and gift, trust or estate returns. The estimator flags these so we can discuss them on the introductory call.
Can you prepare my business return too?
Yes. S corporation, partnership and C corporation returns are quoted separately after a short review, and many owners have us prepare the business and personal returns together so the two are consistent.
